BLACKPINK’s Jennie Stars in HBO Series ‘The Idol’
The show is teased as "the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood."
HBO has officially confirmed that Jennie Kim of the K-pop group BLACKPINK has joined the cast of the new series The Idol.
Fans were quick to spot the Korean celebrity from the official teaser for the show, where she stood alongside the other cast members in a blink-or-you’ll-miss-it moment. Now HBO has further confirmed Jennie’s casting, tweeting a photo of Jennie on set with the caption: “Jennie Kim has been cast in #THEIDOL.”

Created by Euphoria‘s creator Sam Levinson alongside Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, the show is teased as “the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood.” It stars Lily-Rose Depp as a rising pop idol who gets into a relationship with a self-help guru and modern-day cult leader played by The Weeknd.
Also included in the cast are Troye Sivan, Suzanna Son, Melanie Liburd, Steve Zissis, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Nico Hiraga, and Anne Heche. The Idol is coming soon to HBO Max.
