CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – More than 49,000 individuals in Iligan City have so far been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), its city health office (CHO) reported Wednesday.Dr. Belinda Lim, acting Iligan CHO chief, during the local Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) public briefing online, said the city government targets to inoculate 260,940 residents to achieve population protection.Lim said the CHO has achieved the completion of the 3,626 target healthcare workers under the A1 priority, while 96 percent of the 18,438 target people with comorbidities under A3 have also received complete doses of vaccines.A total of 1,919 individuals who are family members of healthcare workers have also been fully immunized, while senior citizens and the staff of CHO who were fully vaccinated has totaled 14,071 or 54 percent of the 25,862 targets.Lim said for A4, only 11,952 essential workers in both the public and private sectors have been fully inoculated out of the 22,131 who received the first dose.For the A5, only 76 have been fully vaccinated while 3,536 have received their first dose.Lim called on employers to submit the list of their essential workers to the CHO so that they will be given an appointment slip for their vaccination."We call on barangay captains, purok presidents of various barangays, cluster heads of 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) to talk to and orient our constituents to encourage them and make them understand that the most important thing to fight Covid-19 is vaccination," she said (PNA)
