Gladys Launches Nostalgic ‘Primera Kontrabida’ Music Video Feat. ‘Mara Clara’ Co-Stars

True to her iconic kontrabida persona, Gladys Reyes turns up the drama and surprises fans with the release of her music video for “Primera Kontrabida,” featuring special cameos from her beloved “Mara Clara” co-stars, including Judy Ann Santos.Gladys wanted her first music video to bring nostalgia and bring back the feels of her teleserye moments.

“I want it to be nostalgic, iconic. It has a teleserye touch. But aside from that, gusto ko pang may maging participation yung mga naging kasama ko sa mga teleserye,” she said.

The MV also features Susan Africa, Juan Rodrigo, Wowee de Guzman, Universal Motion Dancers, and her husband and “Mara Clara” co-star, Christopher Roxas.

From being a premier kontrabida, the Star Magic talent is becoming known as today’s ‘kontradiva,’ who is grateful for the chance to finally showcase her musical prowess, honed with her love of singing and performing on shows here and abroad, through her own song.

“In my many years in the industry, never pa ako nabigyan ng chance to have my own song. Dream come true or answered prayer po na mabigyan ng kantang bagay na bagay pa sa akin,” shared Gladys. ABS-CBN Music creatives, content, and operations head Jonathan Manalo composed the song and also co-produced it with StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos. Aside from “Primera Kontrabida,” Gladys is set to record five more songs for her upcoming EP under StarPop.

The “Primera Kontrabida” MV is now available on the ABS-CBN Star Music YouTube channel.
