Cute, Catchy Melody Coupled with HANABIE’s Hardcore Sound Serves as the Theme Song to New Wacky TV Anime “Araiguma Calcal-dan!”

Tokyo, Japan — Japanese all-woman band HANABIE. announced that they will be releasing a new song “Karu Garu Everyday!!” on Jul. 18. It’s the theme to the new anime series “Araiguma Calcal-dan” which is now airing in Japan. “It made us all laugh with its perfect chaos and being packed with all kinds of emotions,” vocalist Yukina says of the song. “The TV anime has a fun and laid-back vibe, making the tie-in fit perfectly! I hope it becomes a motivational anthem for our fans, giving everyone the energy to tackle each day! Go, go!”
Formed in 2015, the four-piece band rooted in metal, hardcore and Japanese idol pop creates a flashy and frantic sound their fans dub “Harajuku-Core.” The band is currently playing at festivals all around the world, including the long-running Vans Warped Tour, and will embark on a headline tour of Europe this November.

Comments from the Band on the Track:

Vocalist Yukina:

“Listening to the track post-recording, I found the song to be a blend of cuteness, emotional vibes, and surrealness… it made us all laugh with its perfect chaos and being packed with all kinds of emotions! The TV anime has a fun and laid-back vibe, making the tie-in fit perfectly! I hope it becomes a motivational anthem for our fans, giving everyone the energy to tackle each day! Go, go!”

Guitar and vocalist Matsuri:

“We wrote this track specially for the TV anime “Araiguma Calcal-dan”! It was my first time creating a full-length track starting from a 29-second version, but I am really happy about how it turned out. The track blends HANABIE.’s signature quirky style with the show’s poppy and adorable vibes! I hope this track becomes a source of support for everyone’s daily lives!”

Bassist Hettsu:

“We created a highly catchy and addictive song that’s easy to get stuck in your head and will keep on looping! The “Fure Fure (Go Go)” chant at the beginning is sure to get you hooked! When we extended the track from the 29-second anime version to the full-length release, we added the final chorus. This addition turned out to become really grand together with the bass! Please check it out ?”

Drummer Chika:

“As the theme song for the TV anime “Araiguma Calcal-dan”, I aimed to capture the unique, laid-back, and comedic gang of characters who have world domination as their goal. With the drums, I tried to incorporate cute and slightly pop elements with a cool grandiosity! The point I focused on the most is the final section where I play the snare drum with a reverb-like effect!”
